It was a beautiful day for the 17th Annual German Car Fest in Shakopee, MN presented by the local Minneapolis / St. Paul Mercedes-Benz Club of America chapter. There were rows of interesting German cars. Many Mercedes-Benz vehicles showed up, BMW, and Porsche were both well represented. There were a handful of Audis, quite a few Volkswagens along with some unique and odd ball marques like Borgward, Lloyd and even a little BMW Isetta.
The great turn out of Mercedes Benz vehicles included new and old models including a 2011 SLS AMG and the brand new 2012 SLK350, they were parked next to each other at the entrance to the show. I drove the SLK to the show from Feldmann Imports, the SLS was brought by the local couple who purchased it here at Feldmann Imports a couple of months ago. There were quite a few W113 ‘Pagoda’ SL models, some incredibly pristine examples. All generations of the SL were well represented… although there was no 300SL this year.
The Bavarian Musicmeisters were there providing entertainment with their 30+ piece German band decked out in leiderhosen and traditional German Dress, great food was on hand and available from Deustchsland Meats.. it was, as usual, a fun event at a great venue that everyone enjoyed.
Thanks must go to Paul and Chris Bergquist, Mercedes-Benz Club Members who have organized this show since its inception 17 years ago. THANKS CHRIS AND PAUL! See you next year. (photos of the show below)>
