No joke… we just acquired this 2008 Mercedes McLaren SLR Roadster.. and yeah, it was dropped off in 2″ of snow by an enclosed transporter carrying all sorts of cools stuff, a new Porsche 911 Speedster a late 1960s Camaro SS and a wildly customized Porsche Panamera. It was quickly nursed across our parking lot and put inside our detail shop where it got a bath and wax. In case you didn’t know… the SLR McLaren sports 617 Horsepower, 575 lb-ft of Torque at 3,250 – 5,000 rpm. Top speed of 206 mph and 0 – 100km/h (62 mph) in just 3.8 seconds.

This is a one owner SLR from California with just over 800 original miles on its odometer. The original owner passed away and the car became available, we picked it up. It is a nicely equipped car (aren’t they all?) in a great color combination of Crystal Galaxite Black exterior (a metallic black) and Silver Arrow 300SL Red Leather interior it is accented inside with Semi-Aniline leather in black. The laminated original window sticker is with the vehicle as well as all of the associated books, manuals, paperwork, and SLR ephemera that will surely sell for thousands on eBay in 50 years.

This is an extremely clean 2001 Mercedes SLK 320 Roadster, it has just 51,950 original one owner miles on its odometer! It was originally sold here at Sears Imports, it has been serviced here at Sears Imports over the years by its only owner. It is black with a black leather interior, interior wood package and an automatic transmission among other options.

If you recall, the Mercedes SLK was introduced in 1997 as the only modern roadster with a retractable hard top. Since then, retractable hard tops have become the norm as opposed to the exception to the rule among convertible cars. The 3.2 liter engine in the SLK320 is quite an upgrade from the supercharged 230 found in the SLK230, in terms of reliability and longevity. This is the same engine that was used in the E class and ML SUV of the same year… all that power in this little package makes for a very fun driving experience.

The interior is as nice as the exterior of this vehicle, of course, I took these photos in our detail shop before the car had been cleaned up, but the interior is in very nice shape. There is some light wear on some of the console areas and on some of the soft rubber surfaces as was common with SLKs of this vintage, but overall, it’s a fun car at a very attractive price.

This used 2005 Mercedes-Benz SL55 AMG just arrived here at Sears Imports. The original MSRP of this car was just shy of $127,000. It is in extremely nice condition, classic Silver with grey interior, it’s nicely equipped with an Alcantara headliner, Bi-Xenon headlamps and 18″ AMG wheels. It has just 27,774 original miles on its odometer.

This 2004 E320 Wagon was just traded in here at Sears Imports on a Certified Pre Owned Mercedes-Benz. Pewter with Charcoal leather (not MB tex) and loaded with options. Drive Dynamic seats, heated and ventilated seats, KEYLESS GO, Navigation (although your iPhone is probably a better bet than this 2004 technology). It’s a well maintained rear wheel drive E class that is ready to keep rolling down the road.

It has a little less than 108,000 miles on its odometer and it’s in very nice condition, inside and out. The original MSRP was more than $58,000!

This is a 2007 Mercedes-Benz E350 4matic in the Barolo Red Color, relatively rare on an E class, with Cashmere (beige) interior. I believe this is one of the best deals currently available at Sears Imports… based on the car, equipment, mileage and year. It is currently for sale at less than half its original MSRP of $56,915… it has just over 54,000 miles and is for sale today for just $24,012.

Options on this particular car include the Premium 1 Package including Navigation, heated seats, power rear window sun shade, satellite radio and Bluetooth hands free phone capability. 2003 Mercedes Benz SL500, Dark Grey with grey interior, just traded in here at Sears Imports. This SL500 has just over 74,000 miles on its odometer. It is in great condition, inside and out. It has heated and ventilated seats, navigation, 6 disc changer, and of course, the 302 HP 5 liter V8… all the things you’d expect in an R230 generation SL. It does have the AMG Sport Package which includes the AMG wheels, visible in the photo.

This is a three owner vehicle, originally purchased in New York. It was involved in a minor accident in New York with its first owner in June of 2004. There is certainly no evidence of any damage at this point the safety and reliability of the vehicle were never affected by this accident. It went to its second owner in Arizona from August 2005 until it was sold to its third owner here in Minnesota in the Fall of 2010. This SL was traded in here at Sears Imports last week. This is the first 2012 Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Roadster that has been delivered to Sears Imports. It arrived Friday and was promptly picked up by its lucky new owner (a local Twin Cities Section Mercedes-Benz Club member I’m happy to announce). He was able to pick it up late Friday evening before we closed, just in time to get it home and in the garage safely before the first snow of the year fell Saturday morning, whew!

This car is Le Mans Red with a Sand and Black two tone designo interior and a tan convertible soft top, all the interior trim is carbon fiber. While it looks like a million bucks… this one was a bit over $200,000. I’m sure the new owner will enjoy it to the fullest, and hopefully, we’ll see him out at some Mercedes-Benz Club Twin Cities Section events in the Spring. There are two SLS AMG gullwing coupes in the club, at least that I’m aware of, this is the first roadster, I believe.

This two owner Mercedes Benz SL550 in Alabaster White with stone interior just arrived here at Sears Imports Mercedes Benz in Minnetonka. It just went through our service department, it was fully inspected, serviced washed and detailed. It’s ready for retail sale and a new owner. This is a very well optioned car with the AMG Sport Package (note the cool AMG wheels), it is loaded with navigation, heated and ventilated seats, KEYLESS GO, all the usual options you’d expect from an SL550 Roadster. This car has just over 38,000 miles on its odometer.

This is a two owner car originally purchased at Mercedes-Benz of Sarasota. It was regularly serviced there. It was involved in a minor accident with its first owner when it had less than 10,000 miles on it. It was later sold to its second owner, a Minnesota resident who has a Winter place in Sarasota. They brought the car back up here to Minnesota a couple of years ago. The owner recently brought it in to Sears Imports to see if we wanted to buy it, as he was trying to ‘thin his vehicle herd”. We can never pass up a good SL, even in the late Fall with Winter coming.

This past Saturday a customer, and long time Mercedes Benz Club member, came in to Sears Imports and traded in these two cars on a Mercedes-Benz S class. These are two of the more rare modern Mercedes-Benz models and both are in excellent condition. I looked them over closely and drove both cars today. They both run and drive very well, I took a bunch of photos of each car in preparation for eBay auctions later in the week. These two cars need to be presented to a national audience. I took the photos here as these cars were traded in. They have not been cleaned, washed, nothing, just parked behind the dealership after being traded in on Saturday afternoon.

Let’s look at each car individually…

1987 Mercedes Benz 190E 2.3-16

This is a very rare car, originally built to compete directly with the first BMW M3s of the 1980s. The 2.3 liter, 16 valve engine (2.3-16) was developed by Cosworth engineering for Mercedes-Benz. These cars were only offered in two different colors, Pearl Black and Smoke Silver, this car is the Pearl Black color. It is fitted with the original Recaro Sport seats. The car does appear to have been repainted in its original color at one point after my close inspection. It currently shows 187,064 miles.

This car has clearly been well cared for, but also driven. The suspension has been lowered making it an extremely good handling car. It drives straight and true, it accelerates and stops easily. The 5 speed manual transmission has the race layout you see in some high performance cars… 1st gear is down and to the left, leaving a simple “H” pattern for the other 4 gears. 1993 Mercedes Benz 500 E

Only 1,596 500 E models were built in 1993, they boasted 322 Horsepower and a top speed of 161 mph. This was the ultimate ‘Wolf in Sheep’s Clothing’ according to the motoring press of the period.  The 500 E was created in close cooperation with Porsche. Each 500 E was hand built by Porsche, being transported back and forth between the Mercedes plant and Porsche’s Rossle-Bau plant in Zuffenhausen, Germany during assembly. Each example of the 500 E took a full 18 days to complete.

This particular example is silver with a black interior, both of which are in original and very clean condition. This car runs and drives perfectly, the transmission shifts smoothly, no clunking of any kind. The suspension is tight yet comfortable. Acceleration is brisk. It’s a great driving car, as nice today, with 118,169 original miles as it was when new. Huge fender flares all the way around, AMG wheels and a Lorinser spoiler, anyone in the know will understand what you’ve got when you pull up in this ‘Young Classic’ Mercedes Benz muscle car.

I just got word that a lightly used 2011 Mercedes Benz SLS AMG Coupe has become available to us here at Sears Imports. I am awaiting full details on the car, but here is enough information to get things started.

This is a 2011 model gullwing coupe, exterior color is Imola Red. The original MSRP was about $225,000, so it goes without saying that this is a very heavily equipped car. I’m working on getting the original window sticker / build sheet. As soon as I have it, I will post it here.

It is a one owner car with just over 1,000 miles, clean, no stories and ready to roll.
