An Open Letter to readers of DaveKnowsCars…   November 1, 2010.

With a new blog post to Dave Knows Cars almost everyday storage space disappears quickly, with more and more visitors, bandwidth burns up like gasoline in an E63 AMG. I recently upgraded the site to allow for more bandwidth and server storage space, that costs money, so in an effort to support operation costs I’ve decided to place some targeted ads on the blog.

It’s been a little less than a year since I started the Dave Knows Cars Blog. It’s taken off faster and more fully than I ever expected. Through solid search engine optimization and honest, quality content it’s emerged as a unique resource for people interested in new, used, and even classic Mercedes-Benz vehicles on the web. Site traffic has grown steadily each month with a core group of regular visitors and many new visitors who stumble across the site every day through a general search engine query, many end up coming back regularly.

I look forward to the emails I get from readers, from everything from insuring their cars, to extended warranties, to the rarest colors for a specific model, I never know what’s going to show up in my inbox.

The most unexpected result of the blog is the number of actual phone calls I receive from readers, from all over the country. People who find the blog, read a couple of articles then pick up the phone to call me and ask about the car they’re trying to buy form their local dealer or if a particular option is or isn’t offered on a particular model, or about cars that are coming out next year, or “Where can I get an SLS AMG?” All sorts of questions.
