Majestic Black is a fairly rare color, it looks very nice with cashmere leather interior on this example currently sitting on our show floor.

Now that the weather is really getting nice I’ve been getting a lot of calls about available Mercedes-Benz roadsters and convertibles. I just had someone from California who was interested in the Majestic Black color. There are only a handful of SLs in the country painted this color.

Majestic black is a very, very dark blue metallic color…  sort of like the old Crayola crayon “Midnight Blue” (always one fo my favorites as a kid). It looks black at night, but in the right sunlight it has a definite metallic blue tone.

We’ve had a number of interesting convertibles in recently… the 2007 Porsche 911 Carrera 4 Cabriolet lasted less than 24 hours before it wa sold, a 2003 SL55 AMG came in last week and also lasted less than 48 hours in stock before it found a new home.

The people looking for these cars are usually just waiting for the right example to show up. When they do we go down the list of interested parties until one says, “Great, I’ll be right over” and poof… the car has a happy new owner who drive away with the top down.

I generally have a line on SL, SLK and CLK cars from late models to brand new ones that we can talk about… remember good SL Roadsters from the mid and late 1990s can sometimes be found for less than $15,000. That’s hard to beat considering they were $100,000 cars, even back then!
