Mercedes-Benz B Class Spotted in Minneapolis!

Have a look at this! Twin Cities Section Mercedes-Benz Club member, and blog reader, Tony Anthonisen sent me an email on Friday of last week with photos of this Mercedes-Benz B200 he saw parked on at 24th and Hennepin in Minneapolis on March 10th.
The B class has never been officially imported into the U.S. for sale. I’ve seen one in the U.S. before, driving along I-494 one day on my way home from work, but that car had Ontario license plates, celarly a Canadian tourist. This car has regular Minnesota plates which is curious. Tony and I speculated via email a bit as to how this car may have ended up registered with plates in Minnesota.
Here is an excerpt from Ton’y email to me and some photos of this rare find.
Here “are some photos of a Mercedes B200 that I saw on 24th and Hennepin in Minneapolis on Wednesday, March 10, 2010. I was surprised to see the “B” in Minneapolis with Minnesota plates. Very sharp looking car! Searching the Internet and the MBCA website suggests this car will be available in (the U.S.) “freshened” version in 2011 as a 2012 model.”

So, in a year and a half keep an eye out for the Mercedes-Benz B class as it arrives on our shores. If they keep the price down, I think it could be a great car for the U.S. market. It’s been a real hit in Europe thus far.
Thanks to TonyAnthonisen for taking these photos and sending them in!
